2013 National Homebrewers Conference Pre-Conference Events
Coming to Philly a day or two in advance of the Conference? Excellent idea!
After all, Philadelphia has so much to see and do; from the birthplace of our nation’s independence to the nation’s first zoo. Then there is the beer!

The Philadelphia area is home to arguably the best variety of beer in the nation, perhaps world. While you must be sure to stop in many of the local bars we are planning a few Pre-Conference Brewery Tours that will get you out for a nice lunch, beer, and a visit to some of the more notable local breweries.

We’ve divided the tours into North, South, East, and West of the city. So plan to arrive early and start your time here in Philly with fellow homebrewers sampling good food and excellent beer.

 North: Iron Hill Brewery in Phoenixville, PA - Sly Fox Brewery in Pottstown, PA
There are limited tickets available at the bus on a first come/first serve basis. Please bring cash.
South: Dogfish Pub in Rehobeth, DE - Dogfish Head Brewery in Milton, DE *

 East: Iron Hill Brewery in Maple Shade, NJ - Flying Fish Brewing in Somerdale, NJ

 West: Iron Hill Brewery in West Chester, PA - Victory Brewing in Downingtown, PA **
 

The rough itinerary for each tour is:

  • Departure from the conference hotel will be about 10:00 AM
  • Lunch at DFH Brewpub (lunch and one beer included) around 12:30 PM
  • Brewery Tour around 2:30 PM
  • Arrival back at the conference hotel by 7:00 PM
  • Second bus will visit brewery first, then late lunch at brewpub.
   
  * - DFH tour is the brewery, not the brewpub in Rehoboth
** - Victory tour is not a tour of the production facility but a talk by brewmaster and co-founder Ron Batchet and happy-hour pricing on beer.
